Helen Louise (Bliss) Lehner, a lifelong resident of Dedham, died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood. She was 93. Helen was born October 26, 1924 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of Gordon and Ethel C. (Scherber) Bliss. She was a graduate of Dedham High School and worked at Cornell Dubilier Company of Norwood (a manufacturer of high quality capacitors) and then as an assembler for Butler Shoe Company of Norwood. Helen was a member of the Allin Congregational Church in Dedham and was a volunteer at Dedham High School and at the Dedham Town Hall where she assisted with the census, voting, the flu clinics and the blood pressure clinics. In addition she was very active at the Dedham Council on Aging. Helen was the wife of the late Louis Frederick Lehner. She is survived by her son, Louis Jr, and his wife Laina, of Marysville, California; her two daughters, Linda Bower, and her husband David, of England, and Kathy Stivaletta Lehner of Dedham; her grandchildren, Scott and Jennifer Stivaletta; and her great grandchildren, Leo Leonard, Lydia Mariano, and Jaxson David Stivaletta Bedford. She was the sister of the late Edwin H. and Walter G. Bliss, Evelyn Bliss Scheffler, and Gladys Scherber Buteau. Visiting hours for Helen will be held Friday, May 4th from 10 am till noon at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by her Memorial Service in the funeral home at noon and then burial in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
