Gertrude Marion (Russell) Wigmore, a resident of Dedham for 53 years, died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at her home in Dedham. She was 84. Gertrude was born April 10, 1927, the only daughter of George and Josephine (Brown) Russell. She grew up in Westwood and graduated from Westwood High School. Gertrude worked briefly at the Boston Envelope Company in Dedham. She was an active parishioner at Christ Church in Hyde Park where she served on the altar guild. Gertrude was the wife of the late Thomas C. Wigmore who predeceased her in 1990. She was the mother of the late John Wigmore and the late Barbara Wigmore; the sister of the late Robert Russell, and the late John Russell; and the grandmother of the late Bobby Wigmore, and the mother-in-law of the late Joanne Wigmore. Gertrude is survived by her daughter Patricia Hubbard, and her husband William, of Readville; her three sons, Thomas C. Wigmore of Walpole, Robert M. Wigmore, and his wife Evelyn, of Dedham, and Richard J. Wigmore, and his wife Diane, of Norwood; her two brothers, Frederick Russell of Tennessee, and George Russell of Mashpee; as well as 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, September 7th from 4 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday at 1:00 PM at Christ Church Episcopal, 1220 River Street, Hyde Park, MA. Burial will folow in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
