George Myron Lexander

George Myron Lexander, a resident of Westwood for the past 9 years, and formerly of Dedham for 55 years, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood.  He was 88.  Myron was born June 12, 1923 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the son of George Albin and Verta S. (Jackson) Lexander.  He graduated from Watertown High School with the Class of 1942 and attended Northeastern University in Boston.  Myron served in the US Navy in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre during World War Two as  Lieutenant JG.  George was the President of General Microfilm Company of Cambridge.  He retired in 1985 after 2o years with the company.  Myron was an active member of the Allin Congregational Church in Dedham where he had served as a Deacon, and on the Prudential Committee, and where he sang in the choir.  He was an outdoor person who enjoyed yardwork and puttering on his cars.  He also enjoyed watching golf, the Red Sox, the Patriots  and going to the races at Louden, New Hampshire.  Myron was the father of the late Richard Lexander.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret W. “Peg” (North); his son, Robert Lexander, and his wife Mary Ellen, of Dedham; and his granddaughter, Khara Sylvester, and her husband Jeffrey, of Rochester, Massachusetts.  Private burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.  A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 17th at 10 AM at the Allin Congregational Church.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Allin Congregational Church, 683 High Street, Dedham, MA 02026 would be appreciated.
