George James Jacobs, a longtime resident of Attleboro, died Friday, July 4, 2014 at his home. He was 56. George was born October 7, 1957 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Ralph Francis Sr., and Lorraine Joanne (Anastasia) Jacobs. George was a jack-of-all-trades having worked as a painter, an auto mechanic, an iron worker, a landscaper, and a past member of the plumbers and gasfitters Local #12 of Boston. George loved animals, especially cats, fishing and music, and had played drums in a band with Ernie Boch when they were in high school. He also enjoyed fixing and riding dirt bikes. George is survived by his sister, Karen Strong, and her husband Peter, of Epping, New Hampshire, and his two brothers, Philip Jacobs, and his wife Becky, of Dallas, Texas, and Ralph F. Jacobs Jr., and his wife Anna, of South Easton. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, July 13th from 1 to 5 PM at the May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols Street, Norwood. Services and interment wil be private. In lieu of flowers donations to Father Bill’s Place, c/o the Quincy Community United Methodist Church, 40 Beale Street, Quincy, MA 02170 would be appreciated.
