Frederick E. Huggan, a long time resident of Dedham passed away on April 26, 2015 in cambridge. Frederick is the Beloved husband of Rita E. (Rawley) and dear father of Nancy Pelaggi, and her late husband Michael, of Dedham, Donald W. Huggan, and his wife Lee, of Dedham, Robert E. Huggan, and his wife Elizabeth, of Franklin, and the late John S. Huggan. Brother of John, Donald, Gerald, and Robert Huggan, and Carol Bucknam. He is the loving grandfather to Donald W. Huggan Jr., and his wife Gayle, John F. Pelaggi, and his wife Angie, Michael R. Pelaggi, and Meghan E. and Connor R Huggan. Great grandfather to Cole, Autumn, and Siena Pelaggi. Frederick is a former member of the St. John’s Methodist Church, and is a WWII Navy veteran. He served on the USS Wilhoite and USS Swenning, both destroyer escorts. Frederick was awarded the WWII victory medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and the American Campaign Medal for his service. When returning home he became a railroad engineer and worked for the New Haven Railroad, and later on, Amtrack. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, from 5-8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Service and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
