Fraser Neil MacKinnon Jr, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.  Born in Boston on August 23, 1937, he was the son of the late Fraser N. Sr and Anna Grace (Knowles) MacKinnon of West Roxbury, MA.  Fraser was the loving husband of Sandra L. (Hutchins) MacKinnon, with whom he celebrated 51 years of marriage.

In addition to his beloved wife, Sandra, Fraser is survived by his daughter Jeanine L. Hopkins and her husband Brian of Weymouth, son Charles W. MacKinnon and his wife Mayette of Hooksett, NH,  daughter Jessica L. MacKinnon-Allen of Portland, ME, daughter Andrea G. Abdou and her husband David of Ludlow, and daughter Dawn C. Ladino and her husband James of Warwick, RI, his grandchildren; Brian, Charles, Felicia, Ryan, Crystal, Seth, James Jr, Jared, Joseph, Samuel, Jonathan, Jude, Justina, and Jesse and great-grandchildren; Jayden and Lucas and his sister, Martha “Mardy” E. Lundstrom of Charleston, SC.

Before his retirement, Fraser worked for the Boston Saw and Knife Company for over 40 years. Fraser enjoyed serving his community proudly. Fraser was a member of the Roslindale Civic Association and served as president and served as treasurer for the Roslindale Historical Society for many years. He was an active member of the Roslindale Day Parade committee for 25 years.

Fraser was a 32 nd degree Mason at Prospect Lodge for over 35 years.  He loved being in the Masonic organization and treasured the many meaningful friendships with his fraternity brothers.  He received the distinguished Joseph Warren medal for his commitment to community service with his willingness to go above and beyond to help others. Fraser was Past Patron of The Order of Eastern Star seven times in the Contentment and Wistaria chapters.  He was a member of the Scottish Rite for many years.  He served as Dad Advisor for several years in the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Needham Assembly #57, Needham, MA.  He enjoyed taking the Rainbow girls to visit other assemblies and helping them with their service projects and community events. Fraser was a member of the Scots’ Charitable Society, an organization that provides numerous scholarships for students of Scottish heritage, for many years. Fraser loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed all the Scottish outings.

His visitation will be held at Folsom’s Funeral Home, 649 High St, Westwood, MA on Monday, November 13, 2023.  Visiting hours will be held from 10 AM until 12 PM with a Masonic Service By Celestial Lodge AF & AM at 11:30 am  The funeral service will be at the First Baptist Church, 808 High St, Westwood, MA at 12:30.
