Francis J. Ricci

Francis J. Ricci, affectionately known as Fran or Goomba by friends and family, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November18th at his home in Dedham, on his 62nd birthday.  Francis was born November 18, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of Alfred A. and Anna F. (Antinarelli) Ricci.  He graduated from Newton Technical High School with the Class of 1963 and joined the US Marine Corp for a two year tour of duty from 1966 to 1968.  He was honorably discharged as a corporal.  Fran worked as a chef for almost 30 years, first at the Braeburn Country Club and most recently at Tony’s Place in West Roxbury.  He was a talented handiman, and he enjoyed motorcycling.  Goomba is survived by his mother, Anna F. Ricci of Needham; his father, Alfred A. Ricci Sr., and his wife Rose, of Westwood; his sister, Anna Lanoue of Dedham; two brothers, Alfred A. Ricci Jr of Dedham, and Raymond Ricci, and his wife Sharon, of Westwood; his nieces and nephews, Robert C. Smith, Jr., Alfred III, Alicia, Scott, Nicole, Derek, Taylor, and Cassidy Ricci, and Kyle and Emma Rose; his grandnephews, Matthew, Ryan and Reese; his great grandnephew, Robert C. Smith III, his wife Lylah, and their daughterAnabelle Marie; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday, November 22nd from 3-7 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Monday at 11 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.  In lieu of flowers donations to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108 would be appreciated.
