Evelyn M. Peterson

Evelyn Marion (Jepson) Peterson, of Norfolk, and formerly of Dedham for over 60 years, died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood.  She was 96.  Evelyn was born July 3, 1917 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Berthel N. and Anna (Anderson) Jepson, immigrants from Scandinavia.  She was a graduate of Hyde Park High School, and worked for 7 years as a secretary at the Dedham Middle School. Evelyn was a member of the Dedham Women’s Club, and a life member of the Covenant Congregational Church in Jamaica Plain.  She was the wife of the late Eric H. Peterson, who predeceased her in 2006.  Evelyn is survived by her three daughters, Judith A. Kelly, and her husband, the late John J. Jr., of Walpole, Elaine M. Peterson of Norfolk, and Phyllis E. Dennehy, and her husband Robert J., of Medfield; her three grandchildren, Matthew Dennehy, and his wife Siobhan, of Medfield, Andrew Dennehy, and his wife Elizabeth, of Raynham, and Kristina Peters, and her husband Shaun, of Walpole; and five great grandchildren, Keira, Julia, Aila, Elle, and Sofia Dennehy.  A private graveside service will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery at a later date.  Contributions in Evelyn’s memory may be made to the Accessibility 101 Fund at the Covenant Congregational Church, 455 Arborway, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 or to the charity of your choice.
