Ellen V. Sutton

Ellen Victoria (Kenney) Sutton, a longtime resident of Roslindale, died Wednesday, February 25th, 2009 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.  She was 86.  Ellen was born October 12, 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Joseph J. Kenney Jr. and Delia (Kilduff) Kenney.  During World War Two she worked as a civilian secretary for the US Army in Boston.  After the war she became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked as a medical secretary in the emergency ward of Children’s Hospital in Boston for 20 years.  She enjoyed gardening in her spare time.  Ellen was the wife of the late James M. Sutton and the sister of the late Joseph J. Kenney Jr.  She is survived by her two sons, James M. Sutton Jr., and his wife Marie, of Roslindale, and Francis J. Sutton of Roslindale.  A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 2 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale.  Private burial will be in New Calvary Cemetery, in Roslindale.
