Ella D. (Smith) Bazzinotti

Ella D. (Smith) Bazzinotti, a 51 year resident of Dedham and longtime former resident of Hyde Park, passed away November 2nd at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  She was 84.  Ella was born on December 16, 1926 to Ernest and Hertha (Anderson) Smith in the family home in Readville.  One of 6 children, she spent her childhood in Readville.  In 1958, Ella married John J. Bazzinotti and the couple settled in Dedham, just a few streets away from her childhood home.  The couple welcomed 5 children;  Ellen, John, Alfred, Dorothy and James.  Prior to having children, Ella worked at the Boston Globe in the ad taping department.  She took a few years off to focus on raising her children, and returned to her position at the Globe, a position that she held for over 20 years.  Ella was an extremely devoted lifelong member of the Blue Hill Community Church.  She was also a member of the Hyde Park Historical Society.  In later years, she studied Theology at Curry College and Eastern Nazarene College.  Ella is predeceased by her husband John J. Bazzinotti, as well as her parents, Ernest and Hertha (Anderson) Smith; and her siblings,  Ernest Smith, Charles Smith, Alfred Smith and Florence Smith.  She is survived by her children; Ellen Spencer and her husband Rob of Star, Idaho, John J. Bazzinotti of Norwood,  , retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Alfred J. Bazzinotti of St. Robert, Missouri, Dorothy J. Tolls and her husband Volker of Belmont, and James A. Bazzinotti of North Attleboro.  Also survived by her sister Mary Baird of North Reading, and her grandchildren;  Alex Spencer, Sebastian and Natalie Tolls.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service Monday November 7th at 10:30 AM at the Blue Hill Community Church, 215 Neponset Valley Parkway, Hyde Park, MA 02136.  Interment will be private.  Visitation Sunday, November 6th from 3-7 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Blue Hill Community Church (address above) would be appreciated.
