Eleanor James (Noonan) Dowling, a lifelong resident of Readville, died Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the All American Assisted Living Center in Wrentham. She was 94. Eleanor was born June 14, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of James Patrick and Anna A. (Conley) Noonan. She grew up in Readville and graduated from Hyde Park High School. Eleanor worked as a grant request writer for Harvard Medical School. She was a daily communicant of St. Anne’s Church in Readville and of St. Pius X Church in Milton. Eleanor loved to cook and bake, She enjoyed her daily walks and was very sociable; always having a kind word, comment or conversation with anyone with whom she crossed paths. Eleanor was the wife of the late Francis Joseph Dowling who predeceased her in 2009. She is survived by her three sons, John J. Dowling, and his wife Roberta, of Bridgewater, James F. Dowling, and his wife Catherine, of Franklin, and Anthony G. Dowling, and his wife Janet, of Readville. She was the mother of the late Moira A. O’Brien and is survived by Moira’s husband Kevin, of Bridgewater. Eleanor was the sister of the late James P. Noonan, the late Matthew E. Noonan, the late John R. Noonan, the late George F. Noonan, and the late Anne Franklin. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation with her family will be held Thursday, September 23rd from 9 to 10:30 am at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Anne’s Church, 82 West Milton Street, Readville at 11 o clock.
