Edna R. Harmon

Edna R. Harmon, 96, formally of Billerica and Norwood, passed on peacefully June First surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Harry and Edna (Manning) Rath and sister of the late Howard W. Rath. Beloved wife of the late Earl S. Harmon, Edna is survived by daughter Ruth (Harmon) Carwile and husband Rick of Stow, daughter Barbara (Harmon) Hurley and husband Michael of Billerica, son Earl K. Harmon and wife Kimberly of Hingham, granddaughter Julie (Hurley) McIsaac and husband Rob of Ottawa, Ontario, granddaughter Meredith (Hurley) Makin and husband Jason of Amesbury, granddaughter Amanda (Carwile) Lanser and husband Eric of Minneapolis, MN, granddaughter Heather (Harmon) Goldsmith and husband Aaron of Frisco, TX, granddaughter Jessica Carwile of Stow, grandson Stephen Harmon of Hingham, and great-grandson Finlay McIsaac.

Edna was a talented quilter and knitter and crafted many gifts for her grandchildren as well as caps for newborns at local hospitals. She was also an avid traveler and toured Alaska, Australia, and Europe, among other places. Edna was a passionate Red Sox fan and fond of pets and wildlife. Edna kept a garden for much of her life, and volunteered for many years in the town of Billerica, especially at the public library. She loved spending time with friends and family.
