E. Christine Andrus

Erskine Christine (Alexander) Andrus, a resident of Westwood for over 50 years, died Friday, November 9, 2012 at her home in Westwood.  She was 86.  Christine was born December 28, 1925 in Waterbury, Connecticut, the daughter of Ross Eugene and Martha (Nickels) Alexander.  She was a master gardner and a member of the Westwood Garden Club.  Christine was the wife of the late Alexander A. “Andy” Andrus, and the mother of Laura B. Donovan, and her husband Richard, of Norwood.  She was the loving grandmother of Kristian Peters of Norwood, and the great grandmother of Ava, Alexander, and Laura Belle Peters.  Christine was the sister of Nancy H. Cantillo of Indan River, Florida, and the late Mary Ruth Commaford, Emma Durkin, Martha Jean Mercier, Dorothy Sweeney, Joeyann Russo, and John Alexander.  Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, November 14th from 3 to 7 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service Thursday at Noon at the First Parish of Westwood United Church, 340 Clapboardtree Street, Westwood.  Private interment will be in New Westwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations to the First Parish Church would be appreciated.
