Donna Maye (Smith) MacAulay, a resident of Mansfield, and formerly a resident of Dedham for 21 years, died Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Newbridge on the Charles in Dedham. She was 82. Donna was born March 1, 1939 in Indian Brook, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of Malcolm Angus and Eva Maud (Dominey) Smith. She graduated from Florence High School in Nova Scotia and moved to the United States when she was 18. Donna started her career as a bank teller, then did data entry for Clark House in Westwood and Colony House in Whitman. She was also a longtime store manager at the Oakdale Pharmacy in Dedham. Donna enjoyed the Maine coast, Lake Winnepasaukee, boating and camping. She was an avid reader and the consumate hostess who enjoyed treating her guests to her culinary creations. Nobody left her parties hungry. Donna is survived by her husband, Kenneth Douglas MacAulay; her two daughters, Diane L. Coletta, and her husband Steven J., of Harwich, and Nancy S. Canan, and her husband Richard L., of Mansfield; her three grandchildren, Kristen N. Coletta of New York City, Amanda L. Canan of Mansfield, and Joseph M. Coletta of San Diego, California; her brother-in-law, John Richard DelConte of Brooklin, Maine; her nephew, Christopher DelConte of Boston; and her niece, Andrea Keyes, of Hanson. She was the sister of the late Sophia A. DelConte. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, October 6th from 4 to 8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Her funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 am at the Allin Congregational Church, 683 High Street, Dedham followed by interment in Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxborough.
