Donald Harriman Call, a resident of the Snow House in Roslindale, and formerly a longtime resident of West Roxbury, died Tuesday, May 4th, 2010 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood after a brief illness.  He was 88.  Don was born April 19, 1922 in Dorchester, Massachusetts , a son of Roy Chester and Edith May (Giles) Call.  He graduated from Boston English High School with the Class of 1939 and then attended Wentworth University after serving in the US Army during World War Two.  Donald worked as a registered professional engineer at Ehrenzeller Associates in Dorchester for 25 years and then at GTE in Needham for 10 years until his retirement in 1992.  Don was a member of the Stratford Street United Church in West Roxbury, and a former member of the West Roxbury Congregational Church where he served as the Superintendant of the Sunday School, the High School Youth Advisor, Moderator, and sang in the choir.  He also called Bingo at Holy Name Church in West Roxbury for many years, and more recently did the same at the Snow House.  He served on the Board of Directors of both the Parkway Concert Orchestra and the West Roxbury YMCA, and was a Past Master/Counsellor of Sir Gallahad Chapter of the Roslindale DeMolay.  Donald was the brother of the late Marjorie Bright, Warren Chester Call, and Lawrence Wylie Call.  He is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Priscilla (Aitken) Call; his son, Donald H. Call Jr., and his wife Elizabeth, of Stow, MA; his daughter, Carolyn Jeanne Romsey, and her husband Harry, of Plainville; as well as 5 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.  Visiting hours will be held Friday, May 7th from 6-9 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale.  Don’s funeral will be held Saturday at 10:30 AM at the Stratford Street United Church, 77 Stratford Street, West Roxbury followed by burial with Military Honors at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Stratford Street United Church Building Fund, 77 Stratford Sreet, West Roxbury, MA 02132 or to the West Roxbury YMCA, 15 Bellevue Street, West Roxbury, MA 02132 would be appreciated.
