Dominic James DiRusso, a resident of Dedham for sixty years, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his son’s home in Framingham. He was 95. Dominic was born December 3, 1919 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the son of Raymond and Josephine Mary (Cafferalla) DiRusso, immigrants from Italy. Dominic was inducted into the US Army in 1942. He served as a TEC 5 in the 817th Engineer Aviation Battalion and saw action in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theatres. Dominic was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead. Mr. DiRusso retired in 1981 as an Assistant Superintendent after working for 45 years for the Commonwealth Gas Company. He enjoyed bowling and gardening. Dominic was the husband of the late Anna (Carlson) DiRusso and the brother of the late Francis DiRusso, the late Constance DiRusso, and the late Mary DiRusso. He is survived by his two daughters, Linda Pappas, and her husband Bill, of Henderson, Nevada, and Joellen Binder, and her husband Brad, of Alexandria, Virginia; his three sons, Donald DiRusso of Hyde Park, Carl DiRusso, and his wife Gale (Andreotes), of Framingham, and Robert DiRusso, and his wife Marian (Pacella), of Roslindale; six grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Friday, March 6th from 4 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by burial with military honors at Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
