d. May 19, 2015

Charlotte M. (Lamson) Beers, a resident  of Westwood, and  formerly of Needham, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at her home in Fox Hill Village in Westwood. She was 89.   Charlotte was the Daughter of  Harry L. and Evelyn (Heafey) Lamson. She graduated from the Dana Hall School and Mount Holyoke College.  After college she was employed by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston as the Slide Librarian.  In 1955 she won a competition to write, direct and perform in “Adventures in Art”, a weekly television program produced and filmed at the Museum and carried live on WGBH TV.  Following her marriage to Cam she moved to New Castle, NH, and in the following years served as President of the Mt. Holyoke Club of NH, Governor of the Warner House in Portsmouth, Director of the YWCA and was also a volunteer at the Portsmouth Hospital.  After moving to Westwood, MA, in 1960 she was a longtime volunteer in the Westwood High School guidance department, as well as a volunteer guide at the Massachusetts State House and a board member of its guide organization, Doric Dames.  She also served in multiple leadership positions with the League of Women Voters, Children for Palestine and the Westwood Historical Society.  Closest to her heart, however, was her long association with the Museum of Fine Arts, from her original employment in the early 1950s and later as a nearly full-time volunteer while a member of the Ladies Committee and as Vice Chairman of the Ladies Committee Associates.
Charlotte was the beloved wife of Cameron D. Beers and dear mother of Meredeth A. Fuller, and her husband Frank, of Wayland.  She was the proud grandmother of Gage C. Fuller. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, may 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High St., Westwood.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home Thursday at 9 am and proceed to St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St., Westwood for her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o clock.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472, or to the Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115, would be appreciated.
