Charles W. Mcauliffe

Charles William McAuliffe, of Mansfield, died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.  He was 86.  Charles was born November 30, 1930 in Norwood, Massachusetts, a son of Joseph Francis and Sarah (Mitchell) McAuliffe.  He graduated from Norwood High School and enlisted in the US Navy where he served for four years until his honorable discharge in 1955.  Charles worked as a meter reader and then a substation Operator for the Norwood Light Company for 25 years until his retirement in 1991.  He is survived by his wife, Shirley Elizabeth (Libby) McAuliffe; his two sons, Joseph Francis McAuliffe of Litchfield, New Hampshire, and Richard Charles McAuliffe of Northboro; his three daughters, Sandra Jean  Greene of Mansfield, Maureen Rinaldi of Wareham, and Susan Marie Kuphal of Millis; as well as 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  He was the father of the late Linda MacCurtain, and was predeceased by three brothers and a sister.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 3 to 7 pm followed by a funeral service at the Folsom & May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols Street, Norwood.  Interment will be private.
