Charles Kiedle Mutz, a longtime resident of Dedham, died Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 at his home in Dedham. He was 92. Charlie was born March 17, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Carl Walter and Martha (Kiedle) Mutz. He graduated from Boston Trade High School and earned his associate degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. In 1952 he was inducted into the US Army in 1952 and served for two years, being honorably discharged in 1954 from the 65th Engineering battalion as a sergeant. Charles is survived by his wife, Annette Theresa (O’Connell): his daughter, Charlette L. Haschig, and her husband Gregory, of Ashburnham; his son, William M. Mutz, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, and his late wife Debbie; his five grandchildren, Brett Haschig, and his wife Charis, Drew W. Haschig, and Sabrina, Lily M. Haschig, Dalton Mutz, and BreAna Mutz; and his two great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Luukka Haschig. He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Schallenmuller. Charles was a machinist and the co-owner and vice president of Wemco, Inc of Dedham for 45 years until his retirement in 2006. He was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, and a member of the Boyleston Schul Verein. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his best friend, Bill Wentzell. Visiting hours will be held Friday, August 25th from 4 to 8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street Dedham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday, August 26th at 10 am at St, Luke Lutheran Church in Dedham followed by interment at Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston. Donations in his memory to the Memorial fund at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 950 East Street, Dedham, MA 02025 would be appreciated.
