Beverly Ann (Barthe) King, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, neighbor, friend, and longtime resident of Norwood, died peacefully at her daughter's home in North Attleboro on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 83 years wise.
Beverly was born July 11, 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts, the only child of John Arthur and Rose (Napolitano) Barthe. She graduated high school from Fontbonne Academy in Milton. She worked for twelve years as a florist at Star Market in Norwood, and then for a short time at Factory Mutual in Norwood. She was a devout Catholic, who found great peace in attending Mass nearly every day at St Catherine's of Siena Church or St Timothy’s Catholic Church in Norwood for many years. She was relentless in her Faith and had a long list of loved ones for whom she prayed for daily.
Beverly will be remembered as having a very kindhearted, selfless, and gentle soul. She was the type of person that could make everyone feel loved, welcomed, and special, even if she just met you. Her smile could bring light and love into any room.
Beverly was a dedicated homemaker, a talented florist and gardener, and an incredible cook. She could often be found sipping a cup of hot tea in her rocking chair, humming to herself in the kitchen, going out “calooping” with her family or one of her many friends, or sitting at her cards table writing out birthday and holiday cards for everyone she knew. Above all, she simply enjoyed people, whether it be a stranger at a grocery store, a church friend, a trusted neighbor, or her closest family and friends. Beverly leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, selflessness, positivity, grace, and resilience. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Lee King Jr.; her son, Ralph Lee King III, and his wife Anna V, of North Attleboro; her daughter, Karen A. Roche, and her husband Ronald C., of North Attleboro; and her grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Boyer, and her husband Patrick G. of North Attleboro, and Nicole Marie Roche of Foxboro. She was also blessed with a long line of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and a few forever friends- all of whom she loved dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 549 Washington Street, Norwood MA followed by interment at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers, Beverly would want you to be kind to people, spend time with those you love, and maybe have a big piece of scali bread with a slab of butter, in her memory. Donations to St Jude's Children's Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105, or to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 would also be appreciated.
