Barbara E. Paton

Barbara E. Paton, a resident of Dedham passed away on August 22, 2015.  Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Mary (Welch) Putney.  Mrs. Paton just celebrated her 91st birthday on August 20.  She enjoyed traveling to visit her sisters and playing cards with the ladies at Doggett Circle.  Her family was her greatest joy and was a proud grandmother to her 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin Paton, together they raised 4 children.  She is survived by James K. Paton and his wife Ursula of Raynham, David K. Paton and his wife Dianne of Tennessee, Sheila Nugarus and her husband Paul of Illinois.  She was predeceased by her son Edwin K. Paton.  She was also the sister of Wendell Putney of Dedham, James Putney and Joan Davidson, both of Peabody, Lorraine Cimino of Bourne and the late Joseph Putney and Phyllis MacDonald.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 8AM from the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton St. Dedham followed by a mass of Christian burial at 9 o’clock at St. Mary’s Church, 420 High St. Dedham.  Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM.  In lieu of flowers donations in Barbara’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA  01701.  Interment to be at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
