Arthur J. Early

Arthur James Early, a lifelong resident of Norwood, died Tuesday, February 21st. 2017 at his home in Norwood after a brief illness.  He was 97.  Arthur was born January 15, 1920 in Norwood, Massachusetts, a son of David A. and Margaret (Bertram) Early, immigrants from Scotland.  He graduated from Norwood High School and worked for 35 years as a Printer for Plimpton Press in Norwood.  Arthur was a member of the Scot’s Charitable Society, and of Orient Lodge AF & AM of Norwood.  He was also an active member of the former Islington Community Church and of the First Baptist Church of Westwood.  Arthur was the husband of the late Mary (Doyle) Early who predeceased him in 2016, and the brother of the late Robert Early, the late Margaret Early, and the late Lillian Limpus.  He is survived by his son, David J. Early of Moultonborough, New Hampshire; his daughter, Marilyn J. Aylward, and her husband Richard, of Newtown, Connecticut; four grandchildren, Christopher and Jeffrey Aylward, Cheryl Kerrigan, and Danielle E. Early; and 6 great grandchildren.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, February 28th from noon to 1:30 at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood followed by a funeral service at 1:30 in the funeral home.  Interment in Old Westwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Memorial Fund of the First Baptist Church, 808 High St, Westwood, MA 02090 or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
