Annunziato Joseph Apone, a resident of Dedham for over 60 years, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. He was 87. Mr. Apone was born in East Boston. He was the son of the late Michael and Adelina (Malzone) Apone. Annunziato is well  known as the Cobbler of Oakdale Square. He started his business in 1949 and was there until his retirement in 2002, spanning well over 50 years. He was a member of the Dedham Knights of Columbus and the VFW Jacob Jones Post 2017 of Dedham. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Margaret T. (Palie) Apone of Dedham; his children: Karen LaFrance of Dedham, David Apone of Sagamore Beach, Janice Hanrahan of Weymouth Landing, Stephen Apone of North Bend, WA  and Andrew Apone of Plymouth; his grandchildren, Rachel, Nathaniel and Nicholas Apone, Lisa Soukup, Christina and Sarah LaFrance; and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Salvatore Apone, John Apone, Thomas Apone and Flora Neri. He was the brother of the late Dominic Apone. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10 am at Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton St. Dedham. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 O’clock at St. Mary’s Church, 420 High St., Dedham.   Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Visiting hours will be held Monday 2-4 and 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. Apone’s memory may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, c/o St. Mary’s Church, 420 High Street, Dedham, MA 02026.
