Anna F. (Greene) Whitney

Anna F. (Greene) Whitney , a longtime resident of Dedham passed away September 21st at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood.  She was 93.  Anna was born in Boston on May 31, 1918 to Henry and Winifred (Mitchell) Greene.  She grew up in Dedham, graduating from Dedham High School.  Anna met and married Louis I. Whitney,  The couple settled in Dedham, and welcomed 4 children;  Kenneth, Marcia, Judith and Barbara.  Anna was employed at the Norfolk & Dedham Fire Insurance Company for over 20 years; she retired from there as an insurance underwriter.  Anna is predeceased by her husband Louis I. Whitney,  her parents Henry R. and Winifred (Mitchell) Greene and her sister Dorothy Lonsdale.  She is survived by her children:  Kenneth and his wife Carol of Silver Spring, Maryland, Marcia Reissfelder and her husband Donald, Sr. of Dedham, Judith Hanson and her husband Wayne of Beverly, and Barbara Kenney and her husband John of Beverly.  She is also survived by her sister Barbara Amos, by 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.  Interment and services are private.  In lieu of flowers, donations to The Crohns and Colitis Foundation, National Processing Center, Honor and Memorial Gifts, P.O.
