Alice Marie (Norwald) Pollock, a former resident of Westwood, West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain, died Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Rogerson House in Jamaica Plain.  She was 91.  Alice was born July 2, 1920 in Boston, Massachusetts to Thorlief and Lillian Grace (Ellis) Norwold.  She graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and attended two years at the Katherine Gibbs Business school in Boston.  Alice worked at Liberty Mutual in Boston, and then as a secretary in the Newton Public Schools for ten years.  Mrs. Pollock was a member of the Hope Central Congregational Church in Jamaica Plain for almost 80 years, and a longtime member of Star of the East, Chapter 94, of the Order of the Eastern Star.  Alice was the wife of the late George C. Walker and the wife of the late Sherman Morse Pollock.  She is survived by her niece Mary Ellen McMahon, and her husband Frank, of Rockland, MA; her godson Robert Stuhlman, and his wife Jean, of Burlington, Vermont; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grandnephews; as well as numerous close friends.  Visiting hours will be held from 9 to 11 AM on Wednesday, March 28th at the Central Congregational Church, 85 Seaverns Street, Jamaica Plain followed by her funeral in the church at 11 o clock.  Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.  In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.  Alice’s family wish to thank the staff of the Rogerson House for the care and compassion they showed Alice in her stay with them.
