Gorman, Diane C.
Diane Christine (Hyder) Gorman, a longtime resident of Westwood, died Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was 78. Diane was born November 24, 1942 in Boston, MA, the daughter of Harold Edmond and Eleanor T. (McNally) Hyder. She worked as a bank officer for Baybank in Dedham, and later worked in the Tax Collectors Office for the Town of Westwood. Diane volunteered for the Westwood PTO and for the Boy Scouts when her children were growing up. She bowled with a league and she enjoyed dancing, cooking, baking and any type of craft work. However, it was taking care of her family and friends that brought her the most joy. Diane was the wife of the late Philip Francis Gorman who predeceased her in 2008. She is survived by her son, Philip F. Gorman, Jr., of Westwood; her two daughters, Christine Diane Newton, and her husband Donald, of Franklin, and Ellen M. Gorman of Medway; her brother, Harold Hyder of Boston; and her seven grandchildren, Karley, Maddison, and Connor Newton, Jaeda Gorman, and James, Jaxson, and June Rooney. Private burial services were held at the New Westwood Cemetery in Westwood, MA. In lieu of flowers donations to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 would be appreciated.
Dear Christine, Donald, Philip, Ellen, Karley, Maddison, Conner, Jaeda, James, Jaxson and June we are so very sorry for your loss of your dear mother and grandmother. We all loved her very much.
