Jocus, Peter
Peter T. Jocus, 79, of Norwood, MA passed away on March 16, 2021. Loving husband of his late wife Deborah and devoted, proud father of Gabrielle, Sidra, and Deidre. Peter is also survived by his two sisters, Susan Jocus of North Carolina and Margaret Jocus of New Jersey and resting in peace with his five other siblings (Paul Jr., MaryAnne, Janet, Diane, and Thomas Jocus). A United States Air Force Veteran, Peter spent his life traveling the world and eventually settled down in the greater Boston area— a perfect home for his love of history, classical music, politics, photography, and bike riding. Peter is deeply loved and missed by those who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VA Boston Healthcare System (https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/52253675/) or American Heart and Stroke Association (http://www2.heart.org/goto/petejocus). “Keep the Wonderment.”
Pete will miss u always. We get just so few true friends in life. You were one of dear ones. RIP
Peter was a wonderful friend and I miss him very much. We had a long history, starting in New Jersey in the mid 70’s. Later on, by chance, we both ended up in the Boston area. I was always amazed by the wide range of things I could talk about with Peter, from very down-to-earth mechanical stuff to history, the galaxy and many things in between. His mind knew no bounds, along with being a very earthy guy with a great sense of humor. We had lots of fun together. After a number of years, our history together and common interests became a very fulfilling pleasure, like a special rare aged wine.
Dear Jocus Family,
We were deeply sad to hear the passing of Peter. I was super close to deidre growing up on west st & enjoyed happy moment’s at the jocus family home. I’m very sorry for your loss.
On behalf of extended in laws , I send deepest condolences to Peters wonderful daughters , sisters and friends. We enjoyed many years and family times with him and of course spirited conversations. It is heartbreaking for Gabrielle, Sidra and Deidre to loose him after the brave efforts they made during recent months. He was so very proud of his girls and rests in peace now together with their mother Debbie. We hold him in peaceful memory.
Sajiv and I shared many wonderful times with Pete and Deb and children in our homes as well as in parties and day trips.
Sajiv and Peter met while both working at Proteon, and a wonderful friendship developed that lasted until Sajiv’s death in 2007.
My condolences to Gabs, Sids, and Deidre for the loss of your dad.
