Huggan, Rita E.
Rita Ellen (Rawley) Huggan, a lifelong resident of Dedham, died Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Faulkner Hospital in Boston. She was 92. Rita was born February 20, 1928 in Dedham, Massachusetts the daughter of Elton Madison and Betha A. (Mortenson) Rawley. She graduated from Dedham High School with the Class of 1945. In 1946 she married Frederick E. Huggan to whom she was married for 69 years until he predeceased her in 2015. Rita worked as a bookkeeper for Alllis Chalmers in Readville for several years until the birth of their daughter. Rita was a rabid Red Sox fan and she enjoyed league bowling. Rita was the dear mother of Nancy E. Pelaggi of Dedham and her late husband Michael A., Robert E. Huggan and his wife Elizabeth M. of Franklin, the late Donald W. Huggan and the late John S. Huggan. She was the proud grandmother of Donald Huggan Jr., and his wife Gayle, John Pelaggi and his wife Angie, Michael Pelaggi and his wife Kathleen, Meghan Huggan Esq., and Connor Huggan and his fiancé Evalina Parlato, and the loving great-grandmother of Cole, Autumn, and Siena Pelaggi. Rita was the sister of the late Al and Clifford Rawley, Dorothy Frasier, and Nancy Gooklin. Services and interment in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton were private.
