Schall, Janet
Janet M. Schall, a long time resident of Dedham, passed away on July 18, 2020 at the age of 67. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Louis H. and Madelyn A. (Wells) Schall. Janet was a graduate of Dedham High School, Class of 1971. After graduation she went on to Katherine Gibbs School for a year and then started her career as an engineering secretary with Sylvania later to become General Dynamics facilities manager. Janet loved her camp in New Hampshire spending summers amongst the cool forest of oaks. She cherished her beloved cats, Stolli and Rusty.
She is survived by her brother Jeffrey, and his wife Carol, of Gorham, New Hampshire. Interment will be private. A service will be held at a later date when everyone can gather together safely.
Jeff, I am so sorry for your loss.
Although I didn’t see Janet often, she was always for me part of the “Sawyer Lake” gang.

Hello Jeff, My deepest condolences for the loss of your sister and our friend Janet. Jimmy D’Agostino (you went to school together at Huntington and he also had a camp on the lake) also wanted to send his regards. Not too many of the Old Guard left on the Lake. Janet will surely be missed. May she rest in peace. Stay well, JSA
Jeff,
We were employed at GTE Sylvania in Needham, Ma. I was an engineer. She was the department secretary. We all loved her. My deepest condolences.
Janet was mother hen to us older guys at GTE and at the same time she was everyone’s kid sister. She was a wonderful lady. She’ll be missed.
Jeff,
I also worked at Sylvania and Janet had the task of reading my hand writting and correcting my spelling. So sad to hear of her passing. As others have said. She was a wonderful lady.
Jeff and family,
Janet was a dear friend who I loved talking to at work. She really cared about people and doing the job the right way. She was deeply caring towards her friends and many people loved her. There are still some people left at General Dynamics who loved her and are saddened by this news.
I am so sorry to learn of Janet’s passing. I have known Janet for over 50 years. In this span of time, we only met physically 4 or 5 times, but talked on the phone frequently and more recently e-mailed each other. I will miss our conversations. I love you Janet. Rest in Peace.
Aloha to you Jeff
I was out of the country when Janet passed and somehow i only found out about her last week. We three experienced so much childhood together at Camp, we could write a book (but i promise not to). We were besties to be sure for so many years. I will always hold her in my heart and i wish you the best in life.
