Irene is so missed at Westwood COA. Everyone loved her. She had the best sense of humor.
I am a special needs teacher with The Education Cooperative. Our classroom is at Westwood High School. My students volunteer at the Westwood COA. We all loved Irene! Irene always had a big smile and made our students feel so welcome and valued. She made sure our students got a piece of candy at the end of their shift! I loved Irene’s wit and her sweet nature. We will remember her with fondness, and miss seeing her at the COA.
I knew Irene decades ago when we both worked at Commercial Union in Boston. Her great sense of humor, her kindness, and her ability to take challenges in stride made her memorable. Though I have not seen her in years, I know the world is less lucky without her here.
The Officers and Members of Lady Walter Scott Lodge # 147 of the Daughters of Scotia offer their deepest sympathy to family and friends in the loss of Irene and have made a donation in Irene’s memory to the Grand Lodge – Daughters of Scotia Permanent Charity Fund. We enjoyed having Irene as a member and will always remember many good times with her.
Although I’m just learning about Irene’s passing I want to offer my deepest sympathy to her family and friends. Irene was a truly gift to the world, sharing her kindness and smile with all. Irene’s Mom, Margaret, cared for me as a child and I have the fondest memories of her. Although I knew Irene as I was growing up, I got to know her better when she and Margie moved to Westwood and I had the chance to visit with them many times. I always enjoyed our conversations, shared books back and forth and always looked forward to our visits. I admired the contributions she made to her community, her church and her family. She will be missed, and always have a place in my heart.
