Bridget Agnes (Maguire) Dunn, a longtime Dedham resident, died Thursday, April 9, 2020 at her home in Dedham surrounded by her loving family. She was 85. Bridget was born November 12, 1934 in Blacklion, County Cavan, Ireland, a daughter of Francis and Mary (Curnyn) Maguire. She studied nursing at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and worked as a licensed practical nurse at many greater Boston nursing homes including the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton and Eastwood Nursing Home in Dedham. Bridget enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles, and travel, especially back to her beloved Ireland. She is survived by her devoted husband, James Francis Dunn, Sr.; her son, James Francis Dunn, Jr., and his wife Rose, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her daughter, Kathleen Mary Dunn of Dedham; her two grandchildren, Amanda Penn, and her husband Anthony Francis Sr, of Norwood and Thomas Dunn of Anchorage, Alaska; her two great grandchildren, Anthony Francis Penn Jr. and Abigael Rose Penn; her brother Felix Maguire of Corby, England; as well as nieces, nephews, and her beloved dog Brutus. She was the sister of the late Margaret Williams, Kathleen McBrien, Anne Psaradelis, and John Frank Maguire. Service and interment in Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 72 East Concord Street, C3, Boston, MA 02118, or to The Catholic TV Network, 34 Chestnut Street, Watertown, MA 02472 or to the Dedham Food Pantry, 600 Washington Street, Dedham, MA 02026 would be appreciated.
