Morrison, Malcolm D.
Malcolm Daniel “Danny” Morrison, a resident of Walpole, and formerly of Westwood, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2020 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was 75. Danny was born February 25, 1945 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the five children of Malcolm Francis and Pauline (Gerrish) Morrison. He grew up in Westwood, graduated from Westwood High School, and immediately enlisted in the US Navy where he served as a submariner during the Vietnam War era. After his military service Danny studied to become an electrician, originally working at his own business and later working as a union electrician for Local 103 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He was a longtime active member, and former trustee, of Sandy Terraces, a member of Blue Hill Baths, and an active member of the First Baptist Church of Westwood where he served on the Board of Trustees and the most recent pulpit committee. Danny is the beloved husband of Kristin Lynn (Sellers), the late Barbara Maud (Saliewicz), and his former wife Jane B. (Anderson) Morrison. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy J. Blum, and her husband Jan, of Westwood; his five grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Marisa, Michaela, and Hannah Blum; his sister, Priscilla R. Morrison of Needham; and his aunt, Jeanne Morrison of Jamiaca Plain. Danny was predeceased by his three brothers, James Burton Morrison, John Gerrish Morrison, and David Norman Morrison. He is further survived by their wives, Rita (Mrs. James) of Norwood, Gail (Mrs. John) of Falmouth, and Susan (Mrs. David) of Ocean Park, Maine; his nephews, Jonathan Morrison, and his wife Christine, and Peter Morrison, and his wife Liz; his nieces, Robin (Morrison) Marsh, Sara (Morrison) Graves, Amy Rivelli, and Jennifer Rivelli; his sisters-in-law, Gail Sellers, and Trudy Stefansson, and her husband Hilmar; and his brother-in-law Jayson Sellers, and his wife Sarah.

I had the privilege and honor to know Danny for over twenty (20) years. He is a solid citizen and moves on to life in heaven. Rest assured he is going there first class as he should. He was a caring, direct, common sense type of guy who truly saw the world as a big picture.
My condolences to Kristin and to Danny’s family members during this difficult time. The world has indeed lost a stellar gentleman.
May Danny rest in peace.

Danny, oh Danny. We went WAY back, first grade I think, Pond Plain School, Oak Street with Mark and Smitty around the corner from you, and then onto High School. The cold up there finally got to me enough that I moved to south west Florida, so I hadn’t seen you in several years – my loss. Sad to see another great guy pass into the mists of time.
To Kristen and the rest of their extended family, please know Danny was one of those people who you only had good recollections about.

One of the people I always think of when the name “Westwood” comes to mind is Danny. Always a solid, dependable person, he represented the high school class of ’62 with honor and great memories.
Condolences to all his family and his many friends. He will always be in my mind as one of the best, and I am certain you too will remember him that way.
