DeLeon, Julia
Julia Irene DeLeon was born in Tela, Honduras to Stephen James and Clara Ramirez James and was baptized on January 4, 1932. Julia’s mother passed away and shortly thereafter her dad re-married Elswith James who lovingly raised Julia as her own. Julia attended and graduated from Francisco Morazán High School in the Republic of Honduras and volunteered as a nurse in Tela, Honduras until she met her soon to be husband Walter DeLeon. She moved to the United States and married Walter DeLeon in Boston, MA on June 8, 1957.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Blanca, Juanita and Rebecca; her sister Mavis, her brothers; Errol, Ray and Daniel; her son-in-law Jerome, her grandchildren; Elena, Christina, Wilson, Alex, Mark, Nina, Josech, Thomas, Leticia and Ridley, and a host of great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 6 to 8PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 63 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale. Mrs. DeLeon’s funeral service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 10AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Boston.
