Edmands, Ruth A.
Ruth A. (Randall) Edmands, a longtime resident of Norwood, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood. She was 91. Ruth was born June 8, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts a daughter of Leon and May J. (Richardson) Randall. Ruth was a former professional dance instructor and worked for 14 years as manager at the Charles River Country Club until her retirement in 1992. After retiring she opened and owned Creative Happenings, a well known craft shop in Norwood. Ruth enjoyed reading, tennis, long bike rides, and was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan. She is survived by her son, Stephen Edmands, and his wife Kathleen, of Mont Vernon, New Hampshire; her two grandsons, Bob, and his wife Krista of Weare, New Hampshire, and Brian of Missoula, Montana; and four great grandsons, Bobby, Oliver, Jason, and Thomas. She was the mother of the late Richard “Dick” Edmands ; and sister of the late Leon Randall Jr., the late Dorothy Raymond, and the late Elizabeth Silver. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
