Koury, Nasseeb
Nasseeb George “Skip” Koury, a longtime resident of Westwood, died Wednesday, January 9th at Baypointe Nursing Home in Brockton. He was 95. Skip was born February 22, 1923 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the seven children of Peter Simon and Mary (Sarkis) Koury, immigrants from Lebanon. He served in the US Army for three years during World War Two. Skip is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Diana A. (Hamaty); and his dear children, Gail Bumpus of Walpole, and Stephen G. Koury, and his wife Elaine, of Randolph. He was the proud grandfather of Stephanie Purtell, Michael Brown, Eileen Koury, and Ashley Brown, and loving great grandfather of Weston and Whitney Purtell, and Katherine and Allison Brown. He was the brother of George and Peter Koury, both of Albuquerque, NM, Lillian Deeb of NY, and the late Lorraine Mogab, Linda Hakeem and Joseph Koury. He enjoyed oil painting, collecting headline newspapers, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Monday, Jan 21st from 4-7 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High St., Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Tuesday at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held Tuesday at 2:30 pm at the National Cemetery at Bourne.
