McDonald, Virginia W.
Virginia Whitmore (Sullivan) McDonald, formerly of Hopkinton, Malden, and Florida, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at the Deutsches Altenheim in West Roxbury. She was 82. Virginia was born November 17, 1926 in Melrose, Massachusetts, a daughter of Joseph Jeremiah and Evelyn Josephine (Whitmore) Sullivan. She graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1945. Virginia worked for Filene’s in Boston for two years and then for Sears and Roebuck in Boston for 25 years. She was the wife of the late Frederick McDonald who died in 1998. She is survived by two sons, Edward G. Sullivan of Hanover, and Joseph A. Sullivan of New Hampshire; a daughter, Christine J. Milton of West Roxbury; a brother, Herbert A. Sullivan of Lynn; a sister, Geraldine N. Iverson of Sarasota, Florida; as well as 7 grandchildren and 8 great grand- children. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 2nd at 7 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Private interment will be in the Florida National Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
