Barbara Mary (Steele) Grant, a longtime resident of Dedham, died Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood. She was 81. Barbara was born August 8, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Thompson) Steele. She worked as a cashier at the Stop and Shop on Truman Highway in Hyde Park for over 15 years. Barbara was the wife of the late George Anthony Grant and the mother of the late Maryann Grant and the late Kelly Graulich, as well as the sister of the late Susan Harris. She is survived by her three daughters, Paula Tolley of Norwood, Laura Martin of Stoughton, and her former husband Leo, of Walpole, and Barbara Ann McAuliffe, and her husband Jerry, of North Attleboro; her two sons, George Grant, and his wife Barbara, of Dedham, and Jason Grant, and his late wife Amy, of Dedham; her three brothers, Frederick Steele, and his wife Fran, of West Virginia, Daniel Steele, and his wife Doris, of Dedham, and David Steele, and his wife Angela, of Indiana; as well as 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4-8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service Saturday at 10 am in the funeral home followed by interment in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park. My sweet mom, our family will be lost without you. My heart will always have a piece missing. I hope your dancing with dad in heaven. I know your happy to see Kelly, Meme and Stephen again, along with your friends Karen, Alice and Gag’s too. So many other loved ones are back with you now and your all celebrating being together again. You have final seen the face of God and are in his loving arms. Someday I know we will all be together again but until than watch over all of us down here. Love you forever Mommy

Paula! So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a lovely and classy woman. She was a wonderful Mom. You radiate her class and kindness she passed on to you. She’s left a lot of heavy hearts, that can be lifted a bit knowing she’s reunited with your Dad.
