Peterson, Myrtle L.
Myrtle Lorraine (Colby) Peterson, a 30 year resident of Dedham, and more recently of Tecumseh, Kansas, died Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Heritage Hall in Agawam, Massachusetts. She was 89. Myrtle was born September 13, 1929 in Newton, Massachusetts, a daughter of Walter J. and Eva M. (Haynes) Colby. She worked as a hairdresser in Roslindale and was a volunteer librarian in the Tewksbury Elementary Schools. Myrtle was the wife of the late John Richard Peterson, the mother of the late Walter J. Peterson, and the sister of the late Loretta Rozman. She is survived by her two daughters, Gail A. Fox of Tecumseh, Kansas, and Lorna Lee Hamel of Southwick, MA; as well as 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 10 to 11 am at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton St., Dedham followed by her funeral service in the funeral home at 11 o clock. Interment will then be in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. In lieu of flowers donations to the Joslin Diabetes Center, One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215 to help fight juvenile diabetes would be appreciated.
