Spinney, Joseph D. Jr.
Joseph D. Spinney, Jr., of Hyde Park, formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the age of 43. Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Dame) Spinney on September 23, 2018. He will be greatly missed by his beloved daughter, Sara Spinney, and his wife, Lauren (Baga) Spinney of Hyde Park, MA. He is also survived by his father, Joseph D. Spinney, Sr., his brother, Matthew S. Spinney, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Joe was the Director of Building and Grounds at Traditions of Dedham, where he valued his friendships with coworkers and residents alike. He loved spending time with his treasured rescue dog, Cadence and camping with his family in the White Mountains. He took great pride and found enormous joy in spending time with his daughter, Sara. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Church, 25 Maple Street, Hyde Park, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Joe’s memory to St. Francis House, 39 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02116 (www.stfrancishouse.org).
I can not even explain to you how much you will be missed. You are such a wonderful man with the biggest heart.
You know you were like my big brother growing up and I love and miss you so much.

Joe we be truly missed by the Spinney family North Country. Our recovery work will be in your name these next few months. Connecting with Joe and Lauren and Sara this last year was just precious time spent getting to know each other again. I always see the lost potential when we lose one of our young people this way. Joe your life was by no means easy but you pushed through so much and made amends to those most important to you.. you made a beautiful daughter and your life will continue in her.. we WILL miss you and are saddened we will not see you on the saco river next year..
