Steeves, Anne E.
Anne Elizabeth (Morrow) Steeves, a longtime resident of Westwood, died Sunday, September 23, 2018 at her home in Westwood. She was 84. Anne was born February 15, 1934 in Natick, Massachusetts, the daughter of James and Susanna Margaret (Coles) Morrow. She graduated from Westwood High School with the Class of 1951 and then e from the Hickox Secretarial School in Boston. Anne worked as a secretary for the John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston, and then for the F.M. Walley Insurance Agency in Dedham before finishing her career as the Secretary of the Islington Community Church in Westwood where she was a member until its closing in 2004. She was also a member of the Women’s Fellowship at the Church and a member of the Norwood Bowling League. Anne is survived by her husband of over 60 years, John William Steeves, Jr.; her three sons, James Edward Steeves, and his wife Kathy, of Wappingers Falls, New York, Scott Steeves of Cumberland, Rhode Island, and Robert M. Steeves, and his wife Angela, of Westwood; her five grandchildren, Robert M. Steeves, Jr., Christopher Steeves, Crystal Gleason, and her husband Joe, Scott Steeves, and Brian Steeves; and her five great grandchildren, Chloe Gleason, Christopher Steeves, Autumn Steeves, Taylor Gleason, and Magnolia Steeves. She was the sister of the late James Coles Morrow. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, September 27th from 5 to 8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday, September 28th at 10 am at the First Baptist Church, 808 High Street, Westwood followed by interment in New Westwood Cemetery. The Reverend Colin Leitch of the former Islington Community Church will officiate. Donations to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Animal Rescue League, 55 Anna’s Place, Dedham, MA 02026 would be appreciated.
Nanny was very much loved by everyone. I loved and respected her deeply. We are so sorry. Lisa, Scott David, Veronica and family.
I was a friend of Anne for many years. We both graduated from
Westwood High School on 1951. We would get together with other friends for a number of years. Rest in peace, Anne and my thougts are with her family. Pegge Pugh Powers
I so enjoyed Anne we spent many a year at islington community church together. I also bowled with her for years. She was very good! I wish all the best to the family. They were very important to her. I will miss her easy going personality and her acceptance to anyone. She was a keeper
