Ambiel, Isbell
Isbell Jane (Coan) Ambiel , 80, of West Roxbury died on March 19, 2018 at the Spring House in Jamaica Plain. Intelligent and independent, Isbell loved animals, nature, history and art. She graduated from Roslindale High School and Burdett College with honors. She worked for Norfolk- Dedham Insurance and later in life for the Irish Cottage. She was a long-time member of Stratford Street United Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent and holding other throughout the years.
She is the daughter of the late Lt. Col. Arnold and Viola Coan. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Horst F. Ambiel; their daughters Ann Ambiel of Roslindale, and Christina Donald, and her husband Colin of Dundee, Scotland; her identical twin Millie Arntz, and her husband Ronald, of Westwood; as well as her cat, Tessie.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Stratford Street United Church, 77 Stratford Street West Roxbury on Saturday, April 7, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to one of the following organizations: the Animal Rescue League of Boston,10 Chandler Street Boston, 02116, Good Shepard Community Care, 90 Wells Avenue, Newton 02459, Springhouse, 44 Allandale Street, or Stratford Street United Church, 77 Stratford St., West Roxbury, MA 02132.
