Chagaris, Elizabeth A.
Elizabeth A. (Beneway) Chagaris, a longtime resident of Westwood, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood. She was 100. Betty was born June 8, 1917 in New York, the daughter of John E. and Lena C. (Carpenter) Beneway. She was the wife of the late William Nicholas Chagaris whom she married in 1942 and was married to for 46 years until his death in 1988. She was the sister of the late Almire J. Beneway, the late John E. Beneway Jr., and the late Lois C. Mariano. Betty is survived by her son, John W. Chagaris, and his wife Joyce, of Westwood; her grandson, Keith E. Chagaris; and her great granddaughter, Alicia Chagaris. Visiting hours will be held Monday, December 18th from 10-11 am at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood followed by her funeral service in the funeral home at 11 o clock. Interment will be at Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston.
