McAuliffe, Charles W.
Charles William McAuliffe, of Mansfield, died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was 86. Charles was born November 30, 1930 in Norwood, Massachusetts, a son of Joseph Francis and Sarah (Mitchell) McAuliffe. He graduated from Norwood High School and enlisted in the US Navy where he served for four years until his honorable discharge in 1955. Charles worked as a meter reader and then a substation Operator for the Norwood Light Company for 25 years until his retirement in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Elizabeth (Libby) McAuliffe; his two sons, Joseph Francis McAuliffe of Litchfield, New Hampshire, and Richard Charles McAuliffe of Northboro; his three daughters, Sandra Jean Greene of Mansfield, Maureen Rinaldi of Wareham, and Susan Marie Kuphal of Millis; as well as 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Linda MacCurtain, and was predeceased by three brothers and a sister. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 3 to 7 pm followed by a funeral service at the Folsom & May Funeral Home, 85 Nichols Street, Norwood. Interment will be private.
My deepest condolences to the family. He was one of the sweetest, funny people I ever met. always enjoyed his company and wit. He will be sorely missed. Auntie Shirley, you two were the Burns and Allen of Mansfield. Charlie, you will raise “hell” in heaven, I’m sure.

Sue, Rick and family, Ronnie, the girls and I are very sorry for your loss. I will remember Charlie with fondness for his sense of humor and his stories of family and life. May his memory be a blessing to you all. We love you.
My condolences to the entire family. Charlie and Shirley were always there for us when ever we needed them no questions asked and that assistance will never be forgotten. Please take comfort in knowing that he’s now with Linda,Colleen and Miranda. Our loss is truly their gain.
