Kessler, Edward
Edward Kessler of Millis passed away on June 9, 2017 at the age of 91. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he was the loving son of Frank and Mary (Singer) Kessler and the beloved husband of Allison Costain Kessler. Mr. Kessler served in the United States Army during World War II, 817 AAA AW. Mr. Kessler devoted his life to serving others with his chosen career of social worker, having attained credentials as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. In addition to working for many years at the Veterans Administration in Boston, he maintained his private practice for over 50 years and was considered a pioneer in social work. He received his undergraduate degree from Springfield College and his Masters Degree from University of Connecticut.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 6 to 8pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High St., Westwood. A graveside service is scheduled on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 1:15PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Donations in Edward’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 145550, Cincinnati, OH 45250 would be appreciated.
