Nancy Lee (McLaren) Turner, a lifelong resident of Westwood, died Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Thomas Upham House in Medfield after a long illness. She was 86. Nancy was born at the family home in Westwood, as was her mother and her grandmother, and graduated from Westwood High School with the Class of 1948. She then attended Becker Junior College in Worcester for two years. Nancy was the wife of the late John M. Turner who predeceased her on November 19, 2016. She was the daughter of Henry Parker and Alta Gertrude (Weed) McLaren, and the sister of the late Gordon A. “Skip” McLaren. Nancy is survived her daughter, Cynthia J. Mingels, and her husband Jeffrey, of Westwood; her son, J. Steven Turner, and his wife Gail, of Mansfield; her brother, H. Parker McLaren Jr., and his wife Barbara, of Orr’s Island, Maine; her sister, Diane F. Morris, and her husband William, of Fernandina Beach, Florida; her sister-in-law Gayle McLaren (Skip’s wife) of Naperville, Illinois; her four beloved grandchildren, Abbey G. Turner of Mansfield, Jaimelyn Cutts of Plaistow, New Hampshire, Hilary A. Turner of Mansfield, and Joshua T. Mingels of Dennis; and her adored great granddaughter, Taygen A. Cutts; as well as many other relatives and friends. Nancy was a member of the Westwood Women’s Bowling Club and she enjoyed china painting and travelling to Orr’s Island, Maine and Boynton Beach, Florida in their travel trailer. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with Nancy’s family from 9:30 to 10:30am on Saturday, June 24th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 59 Court Street, Dedham followed by her Memorial Service at the Church at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at the New Westwood Cemetery, Westwood. In lieu of flowers donations to the Thomas Upham House Activities Fund, Attn Amber, 518 Main Street, Medfield, MA 02052 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 t. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 would be appreciated.
