Cardinale, James
James A. Cardinale passed away on March 5, 2017, at age 84, in Dedham, Massachusetts. He was born on October 1, 1932 to Giuseppe Cardinale (of Sicily) and Maria Scudera (of Sicily) in Boston, Massachusetts. Jim grew up causing mischief in the North End of Boston. He married Rita Guerrero who passed away at an early age. He married Marcia Cardinale (Zigelis) and settled in Dedham, MA. Together they raised seven children and were married for 50 years.
Jim was hardworking and dedicated to his craft as Baker. He worked for Drago’s Bakery in the North End, Purity Supreme Supermarket, and Hilltop Supermarket. He baked better than anyone, just ask him. He spent his spare time providing pointers to his children. He was the all-around sports expert and endlessly sweet and punny. He spent his retirement years enjoying the job of Keno player/scratch ticket inspector, dunking cookies, hanging with his girlfriend Judge Judy, and kind Keno agent Sam (2 5’s and 5 2’s PLEASE).
He is survived by his sisters Mary Pascarella (Everett, MA) and Rosie Cardinale (Chelsea, MA), children, Marie and her husband Mark(Silverdale, WA), Andrea and her husband Paul (Des Moines, WA), Claudia (Canton, MA), Joseph and his partner Michelle(NV), Rita Maringo (NY), Steve and his wife Katie (Hopedale, MA), Marcia and her husband Dan (Canton, MA), daughter in law Cathy (Dedham, MA),” she knows everything”. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jim Owens Esquire and Cameron Flanders (WA), Jimmy the III and his wife Amanda, and Ri-Anna (Dedham, MA), Jameson, Elise, Amy, and Nicholas (Canton, MA) who will carry on his gift of humor and wisecracking. He was predeceased by his son James A. Cardinale II, his Keno partner and loving wife Marcia Cardinale, brothers Steven and Andrew (Uncle Burp Burp) Cardinale, and Sister Nina Costa. At the family’s request there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a local sports program in memory of Jim and play the lottery also in memory of him, because you can’t win if you don’t play!

Sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Jimmy, whenever he visited, he always gave us something to laugh about. When worked at the Heartland Supermarket in Malden he would stop by with fresh bakery products for us. To everyone in the family please accept our condolences.
