Jacobs, Frank C.
Frank Charles Jacobs, a longtime resident of Pond Street in Westwood, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Milton. He was 88. Frank was born October 19, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of Frank Charles and Hazel May (Smith) Jacobs. Jake graduated from Roslindale High School and enlisted in the US Army where he served as a truck driver in the 99th Field Artillery Battalion in Japan. After the war Jake served as a firefighter for the City of Boston for 34 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Boston Fire Department Local 718, American Legion Post 320 in Westwood, the Boylston Schul Verein in Walpole. Frank was also the Secretary at Florian Hall for 5 years. Frank was the beloved husband of Josephine P. (Sullivan) and dear father of Frank B. Jacobs, and his wife Yvonne, of Westwood, Paul Jacobs, and his wife Linda, of Waltham, Thomas G. Jacobs of Ipswich, Nancy A. Jacobs of Boston, and Diane Hannon, and her husband Bruce, of Walpole. He was the loving grandfather of Bruce and Robert Hannon, Jenny Abdou, and Laura, Alison, Michael, Justina, and Victoria Jacobs as well as the loving great grandfather of Andrew, Colin, Isobel, Avery, and Aaron Hannon, and Jake and Lexi Abdou. He was the dear brother of Frances L. Holland of Nashua, NH and her late husband Frank, Grace M. Plummer of Milton, and her late husband Horace, the late George H. Jacobs, and the late Robert D. Jacobs, and his late wife Florence. Visiting hours will be held Monday, February 13th from 4-8 pm at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High Street, Westwood. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home starting at 9 am Tuesday and process to St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High St, Westwood for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o clock. Burial with military honors will follow in New Westwood Cemetery.
