Walls, Helen F.
Helen F. Walls, 90 died in her sleep after long illness with her daughter by her side. She was born Helen F. Nolan of Boston at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and was a resident of Centre Street, Jamaica Plain before moving to Westwood (MA). She was a lifelong resident of Westwood where she lived with her parents Helen Nolan (Magee) and John T. Nolan. She later was married to Thomas R. Walls of Holbrook, pre-deceased. They both moved to Westwood after marriage a lived there for over 30 years building four houses in town. Helen originally worked for M.I.T. out of high school where she was the security officer for the Dynamic Analysis and Control Laboratory, working on the Manhattan project and other developments for the military in the 1940’s and 50’s. Helen and her brother John M. Nolan (pre-deceased) sang professionally in many Boston night clubs through the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. She also taught ballroom dancing at Arthur Murry’s studios in Boston in that same time.
She is the mother of Christine H. Walls (pre-deceased) of Westwood and Helene Walls-Bouchard of Oakdale, CT. She also leaves behind her grandson Christopher Bouchard and son-in-law Normand Bouchard Jr also of Oakdale. Helen enjoyed painting, playing golf and the beach. She was an avid sketch artist for holiday Christmas cards and oil paintings for many years. Visitation for Helen will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 649 High St., WESTWOOD, Ma 02090. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home by 9:30 to process to St. Dennis Church, 157 Washington St, Westwood for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM followed by interment at New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital of Boston (a charity close to mom’s heart) at 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130 or online at https://www.mspca.org/
