Davis, Alice M.
Alice Mary (Plummer) Davis, a resident of Fox Hill Village for the past 15 years, and formerly of Hamilton, Massachusetts, died Friday, July 10, 2015 at her home in Westwood. She was 92. Alice was born July 14, 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of Morgan H. and Susan (Parsons) Plummer. She graduated from Beaver Country Day High School . Alice worked as a staff assistant for the Red Cross during World War Two, and was a volunteer for the North Shore Children and Babies Hospital in Salem, the Vincent Club in Boston, The Mystic Seaport Whaling Museum in Mystic, Connecticut, and the Trustees of Reservations in Massachusetts. She was the wife of the late Fellowes Davis, who died in 1997 and the sister of the late Morgan H. Plummer, the late Thomas P. Plummer, and the late Susan L. Smith. She is survived by her son, Morgan Davis of Ontario, Canada; her three daughters, Susannah L. Adams of Jackson, New Hampshire, Rose G. Mendoza of Washington, DC, and Dr. C. Cary Gallaudet, and her husband Cruger, of Bronxville, New York; her seven grandchildren, Simon Adams, Sophia Mendoza Lee, Susana Birdsong, Jose Luis Mendoza, Peter Adams, Joshue Gallaudet, and Nathaniel Gallaudet; and her four great grandchildren, Henry Fellowes Bratton Adams, Belen Lee, William Thomas Lee, and Natalia Mendoza Birdsong. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 12:30 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 59 Court Street in Dedham. Following a reception at Fox Hill Village, burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, Rhode Island around 3 PM. In lieu of flowers donations to the Mystic Seaport Whaling Museum, 75 Greenmanville Avenue, PO Box 6000, Mystic, Connecticut 06355 or to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 59 Court Street, Dedham, Massachusetts, 02026 would be appreciated.
