Barbara Elizabeth (Root) Kinsella, for over 50 years a resident of Dedham, died Monday, April 20, 2015 at her home in Dedham. She was 82. Barbara was born June 7, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts, one of the five children of Russell and Ann (Browne) Root. She grew up in West Roxbury. Barbara worked in the accounting department at the Norfolk and Dedham Insurance Company in Dedham for twenty years until her retirement in 1992. She was a very devout Catholic, an avid reader, and a lifelong Red Sox and Patriots fan. Barbara was the wife of the late Robert “Bob the Barber” James Kinsella who predeceased her in 2011, and the sister of the late Teddy Root, Russell Root, Pauline Murray, and Virginia Schneider. She is survived by her five children, Michael R. Kinsella, and his wife Robin, of Dedham, Susan E. Lipsett, and her husband Paul, of Auburn, New Hampshire, Kathleen M. Krill, and her husband Jeffrey, of Franklin, Patrick J. Kinsella, and his wife Nora, of Falmouth, and Steven P. Kinsella, and his girlfriend Debra, of Dedham; her sisters-in-law, Rita Root (wife of the late Teddy), of Berlin, and Marjorie Condon, and her husband Chuck, of Norwood; and her grandchildren, Michael Kinsella Jr., Sean and Colleen Kinsella, Kristen and Brian Lipsett, and Matthew, Christopher and Jonathan Kinsella. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, April 23rd from 4 to 8 PM at the Folsom Funeral Home, 87 Milton Street, Dedham. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at t he funeral home Friday at noon and proceed to St. Mary’s Church, 420 High Street, Dedham for her Mass of Christian Burial at 1 o clock. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park. In lieu of flowers donations to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts Street, Suite 450, Newton, MA 02458 would be appreciated. Barbara’s family would like to express their deepest thanks to her home health aides, Mairead, Peg, Gail, and Ann, for their tireless efforts in caring for her in her final years.
